Resources & Guidance

Brown IM uses Thalamus for (a) scheduling interview days, (b) organizing individual applicant itineraries and (c) managing virtual interview sessions. The use of Thalamus requires individual applicants to set up an account with password protection. We have found that Thalamus offers applicants and our program the convenience of “ordered” scheduling of interviews – which provides a set timeframe in which to select interview slots (so you need not bring your phone into the shower with you) as well as a single place to find your entire interview day itinerary.

If any applicant has technical problems before or at the start of an interview day, please email us for help ASAP at imrp_rih@brown.edu.

If any applicant has technical problems during or at the very start of an actual interview, please call Mr. Alex Mayer at 401-444-5127 within the first 2 minutes for an alternate link. Our experience last year was that such issues were uncommon and easily resolved in this manner.

We encourage you to review our website in detail, including the resident videos before your interview day or during breaks on the interview day. Reviewing this material prior to the interview day will help guide your questions and make the day more informative. Our hope is to bring our program and our residents to you in a manner that will help you get to know the personality and the people who make up Brown Internal Medicine. We look forward to “meeting” you virtually. Good luck on the interview trail!
